School District Attributes Student Achievement Improvements to EducationCity.com
Paris Special School District utilizes EducationCity to provide standards-based instruction and reinforcement activities to all students in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. Since implementing EducationCity in early 2008 the district has seen significant improvements in student achievement in Math (according to Student/Teacher Achievement Ratio (STAR) Math Scale Scores) and in Reading (in accordance with STAR Reading Scale Scores).
In a Race to the Top winning state, Paris Special School District had to come up with an actionable plan to increase their student test scores almost overnight. The plan called for a 10 percent whole class measureable growth every six weeks. With EducationCity the district saw amazing numbers in early literacy, reading and math – in some cases their scores had more than doubled. To-date the first and second grade classes have completed more than 47,000 EducationCity Math activities, while the third through fifth grade group has logged nearly 63,000 activities!
