TEA Ratings Jump Since Implementing

Park Place Elementary School, Texas, EducationCity case study Summary

Park Place Elementary School, a Houston, Texas Independent School District school, utilizes EducationCity to provide standards-based instruction, reinforcement and differentiated learning to all students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. Since implementing EducationCity in 2007, the school has seen its Texas Education Agency (TEA) School Accountability Rating jump from ‘Acceptable’ to ‘Recognized’ and then from ‘Recognized’ to ‘Exemplary.’

According to the school’s more recent report card, Park Place also saw significant improvements across the board in Reading, Math, Writing, and Science from 2009 to 2010. In fact, from 2007 to 2010, Park Place saw an increase in Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) test scores across the board and an overall average of 15 percent improvement across all subjects. At press time, Park Place students have practiced their academic skills 386,000 times with EducationCity activities.
