Separate Log In for Students/Teachers/IT Staff

I have already shared this with some people at EducationCity but thought I would put it here too. I would love to see separate log ins for Students, Teachers and IT Staff.
The log in for students would show only buttons for ACTIVITIES and MYCITY. When they open an activity they would not see the Teacher Zone or the Preference button.
IT Staff should be able to view all and have the ability to lock Teaching staff out of certain areas. (Password Change, Site Preferences etc.)
Teachers would see only the buttons that pertain to what they can access. The Features area would show only those items they are allowed to change.

i need to no something
if you are a student how do you log in with out havin a username and password.
Re: Separate Log In for Students/Teachers/IT Staff
As a Technology Director, I agree there should be a separate log in for each user type. I am glad to see that EC is working on something to address this. As accurate data reporting becomes more crucial, certain program settings must only be made accessible to admins or those responsible for administering the program.
If teachers have the ability to disable settings like "Auto Save", then our data reports are not reliable. Our teachers love EC. I would have to argue against using EC for reliable data collection from an administrators point of view.
Also, there needs to be an option to apply all preferences set in the Admin Only section to any "My City" currently created or that will be created.
Re: Separate Log In for Students/Teachers/IT Staff
We are shortly planning to move all the teacher specific features from the existing front page into an area that is specifically for teachers and/or ICT staff to access. This will clearly differentiate students and teachers. This represents the first stage in the process and we will then review how staff login to the various features in this area. We have been working on this for some months now and hope it will address some of the issues raised.

Was just discussing this very topic with another IT person and we feel this would be an excellent change for Education City to make. Hope the suggestion is seriously considered by EdCity Developers.
