Welcome to the May 2010 edition of The City Today, bringing you all the latest from EducationCity.com!

WHAT'S NEW?

Iowa and Wisconsin Subscribers Take Note!
EducationCity.com is now on the list of approved vendors in Iowa and Wisconsin for the Microsoft Voucher Program (MVP). Up until now, EducationCity.com had only been on the approved vendor list in California. This funding couldn’t have come at a better time! With EducationCity.com’s annual price increase taking effect on June 1, 2010, schools in these states can use their Microsoft money to renew at current prices! For more information about how to use your MVP funds click on the links below or give us a call at 1-800-995-5410. It’s a slow process, but we’re working hard at winning a place on the other 16 state lists. Stay tuned!

Activities and Topic Tools
Check out our new activities and topic tools! Upgraded math activities include: Wonderful World and the Volume and Surface Area tool; new Matematicas activities include: Atrapa al Conejo and Dinero Cosmico. Please note, not all activities correlate to every state standard. Therefore, some activities may be visible in some states and not in others.

COUNTDOWN TO SUMMER!
The days are getting longer and your students are getting restless! You know what that means…summer vacation is right around the corner. While the summer months are a (deservedly) nice break from the rigorous teaching and learning year, it can also act like a knowledge black hole. An easy way to get around this obstacle and make sure your students are in the best mental shape possible when they return in the fall, is encouraging EducationCity.com access from home. You know the kids enjoy the activities and parents will appreciate some educational mind exercises! It’s an easy way to prep your students for success next year.

FEATURED FEEDBACK
“The Jones County School District utilizes EducationCity.com as one of its Tier II and/or Tier III interventions. We have found that our children succeed when involved in this intervention because they enjoy working with EducationCity.com. The reports are very user-friendly at the district level as we can see usage stats from each school site. We are a school district with 9,000 children; therefore, it is difficult to be at many different school sites on a daily basis. This reporting system allows us to take a “snapshot view” from the district perspective. EducationCity.com has proven to be a valuable instructional tool and we’ve committed to multiple years of EducationCity.com!"
-Dr. Terry White, Director of Special Services, Ellisville, MS
